December Adventures

December has been a good month and a bad month.  December 10th we found out we are having a girl and couldn't be more excited!  Monday, the 17th, I woke up not feeling well and I was like " Scott I'm going to barf".... and I rarely barf.  Well,  I fell asleep and woke up an hour later and barfed, a lot!  From Monday to Friday I could barely hold anything in.  My sister told me to eat Lipton Noodle Soup and I must say, it is pretty dang good!  I lost a good amount of weight.  I was really worried to drive across the desert being sick but I kept my food down all Saturday and I have  still kept it down.  It was a bad virus.  I don't know how some pregnant people barf during their whole pregnancy.  One week with a virus about did me in.  I can't eat Hibachi Grill anymore.  Well, at least not right now.  That was the last thing that came up and it was horrible.  I am so glad I have had a good pregnancy so far.

Saturday, the 22nd, Scott and I woke up at 3:20 and got on the road to California.  The weather wasn't bad until we got to Fernley and then Scott had to take over the wheel.  We hit the storm when we got to Cabelas on the west side of Reno.  We got to Truckee and waited for 45 minutes before they let another group of cars go over the pass.  There are a bunch of idiots who were on the mountain with us.  When there is 6 plus inches of snow on the road you should take a chill pill and just drive safe but not everyone understands that.  It took us 11 hours to get to my parents house.  It wasn't that bad.  Scott was also a trooper letting me stop every couple of hours to stretch and go to the bathroom.  He loves me!

Our trip home to California was so much fun!  We didn't do anything to crazy, since it rained every day, but we sure enjoyed each others company.  It was fun going to church with my whole family and seeing people I haven't seen in a long time.  Christmas Eve was a blast.  I saw Sara and Rachel which was wonderful.  Scott bought an Ipad.  Merry Christmas to him!  He deserves it.  My mom and sister prepared and awesome dinner.  After dinner we went to go see Desi and take a family picture.  Desirae's tree was sure beautiful!  When we got back to our parents house we opened presents, since my Mom and Joe were scheduled to work Christmas Day.  I actually really enjoyed opening presents Christmas eve because afterwards we relaxed and played games.  Pictionary was so funny!  There was a challenge dice so sometimes we had to draw with our eyes closed or in a continuous line and with the opposite hand.  It was so funny.

Christmas Day we slept in a little longer than we ever do, since we opened presents on Christmas Eve.  We then went to Grandma and Grandpas for Christmas breakfast and then back home to relax and clean up.  Back to Grandma and Grandpas by 3:30 for dinner, presents, and telling stories.  My dad read the story of the Christmas Train and it was really fun to sit around the living room listening to my dad.  My mom never had to go into work and neither did Joe so it was nice to have them there for Christmas.  My dad has us all tell our favorite stories and presents we remembered.  I will admit I wanted to cry a couple of times but held it together.  I just love my family.  We opened presents and then the adults did our white elephant gift exchange.  I had some good presents and I kept getting them stolen from me but I ended up with some awesome knifes, which I need.  We put our hand prints in my Grandparents bathroom which was really fun.  I love my family!  Scott and I hung out a little bit longer then said our good byes so that we could go pack and relax.  The day at Christmas we were back on the road to Utah.  We were worried about going over the pass but it was actually not bad and got really sunny in Truckee.  Winnemucca to Utah was a different story.  It had its moments of bad road.  It took us 12 hours to get home and it was so nice to get out of truck when we got home.  Also, our awesome neighbors shoveled our driveway!  There was a lot of snow at our house so it made unpacking the truck easier since it was shoveled.

We had an amazing month of December and an amazing Christmas vacation.  I love Scott and I appreciate him taking time off work to get me home.  I have missed my family and I am blessed that we have technology and are able to keep in contact easier.  I love you all so much!  See you in February, I will be 30 weeks pregnant so get ready for the belly haha!
